Each to their own (yeah, yeah). Personal favorites [fm experience]: 1911A-1 .45 ACP w/10 shot mags [Wilson, Novak, STI, McCormick, Ed Brown, or MecGar preferrably (not necessarily in order)] tied with Sig P-220 .45 ACP w/ANY mags you can get [they are sometimes quite hard to find] and no others!
For 9mm’s? S&W 39-2 due to ergonomics, accuracy and profile [with mucho mags, o'course.] And the deadliest ammo you can find. 9mm’s absolutely are the topic of “accuracy over accessory”. [Speed is essential, accuracy is everything].
Totally agree with the Colt Trooper Mk. III [though mine's a Mk.V with Mk.III parts (the Mk.V parts are saved for when it gets handed down) and the other is a Dan Wesson M-15 that'll group a quarter at >25 yds., easy.

Weight is an irrelevant subject. I'd rather carry heavy and know every single shot, slow or a mag in 2 seconds, is dead on from recoil suppression. I actually prefer the Springfield Armory TRP Operator, full length dust cover and slide, loaded with everything heavy except the bullets. Aguilla 117gr. IQ's, MagSafe or Glasers are first choice [distance will be close with probable multiple assailants]

Good article, good magazine, good common sense. Well written, dude. God Bless, hold the line & stand ground. Strength and Honor.
