The speeches (at least three that I heard) made by Presidential Candidate Barak Obama in which he stated that “America needs a civilian homeland security force…that is just as well armed and as well funded as our military.” were a shot across the bow to America’s Police Officers, Special Agents of all federal law enforcement agencies, Sheriffs, Deputies, et al.
I was well aware of (now) President Obama’s attitude toward Police in general. You only need to read the man’s own words, or cite his reaction to the Cambridge incident when, he said that the Police acted “stupidly”, immediately after admitting he had none of the facts.
Police Officers are often EXTREMELY patriotic. We Uphold and Defend the Constitution of the United States. Often, at the cost of our very lives. One of my Sergeants was brought to America at the age of 13, wearing sneakers his dad borrowed from a cousin. We’re both now in our 40’s and I can still barely understand a word he says because of his accent. He loves his native country. He loves his culture. His RELIGION however, is America. Not his words, but mine. It is how I view our country, and revere the men who founded it. The sergeant’s views are probably more extreme than mine, which is why I can’t help but love the guy.
The President has stated his intent to transform America, but wouldn’t elaborate as to exactly what type of transformation he will impose. What ever the transformation, it will require that he has a well armed force, with a 515 billion dollar budget, to prevent the nation’s police and citizenry from defending the Constitution.
It is incumbent upon WE, the Defenders of the Constitution of the United States and ALL of it’s citizens, to be vigilant in the face of ANY “transformation”. If necessary, to enlist and lead the citizenry in defending the Constitution and the Republic. This is necessary in order to prevent political and social chaos. And to maintain the rule of law, should such “transformation” be of the sort that is not palatable to the American people.
If it turns out that the executive “suit” is truly empty… all the better. But beware… the mechanism that created this tragedy is still very much in place.
Be Safe out there.

Although I think the article is excellent and speaks of my attitude and personality, if they are not one of the same. But, I have, tongue in cheek a point of interest to pass along in reference to we the Oath Keepers and “We are the Well Regulate Militia”. I took my first oath as a boy scout-”On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my County”, then came the oath once again as a Navy Guy in the Sea Bees. Later, twice as a town board member and twice as a mayor of a small community of 600. So, when it comes to the oath, I am do or die, just as I am with my belief in a living God, the great architect of this universe. So, all that said, back to the tongue in cheek. A few years ago, I asked a deputy sheriff, recently discharged as a U.S. Marine, what his thought with reference to the Constitution. His reply;” That was for a long time ago, way back when things were different, for those early people, things are different today”! Pissed off was I, but W/O comment I retained that opinion of this twice oath taker. Then last week, 20 Oct. 2009, I had a meeting with two federal agents, each from a different agency and two deputy sheriff detectives from a not too distant state, Ariz. in fact. Being an Oath Keeper and a member of same, I had some business cards with “oathkeepers.org” and some very good quotes on both sides printed up. I hand these cards out to any and everybody, especially obvious person’s that have taken the oath. That includes town board members, state rep’s, LEO, past and present military. Each of these people in the meeting received a card as well as other patron’s in the restaurant where the meeting was being held. They all thought it was good and applauded in a silent way of the issue referencing the oath. I asked the deputies what they thought of the oath and how important was it. All kinds of importance came from them and they were dedicated oath keepers. I asked, since their county bordered on the U.S./ Mexican border what they do about illegal immigrants coming across the border. In short, the reply was-”we don’t touch that one, our sheriff turns a blind eye”. I reminded them of the oath and they acknowledged the importance of the oath but, they can not enforce federal law and if they did in the case of the illegal’s, they would be fired.
Well, tongue in cheek. So much for the oath.
BTW: After several weeks of notifying the fed. agents of Oath Keepers, on the 20th of Oct. they hadn’t logged on to the site. My confidence is waning.
Anyway, “The Oath, Do or Die”.
Mr. Copley;
Allow me to thank you for your comments and additions. As to whether or not those fed. agents came to your website: different people seek enlightenment from different directions and different places. Thank you for being on the level and helping, as much as you can, to keep people squared away.
One of the reasons it took me 23 yrs to make lieutenant in the police department was my willingness to do things the right way even when that upset other people.

I do not trust anyone who does not follow the second amendment. I will defend the us constitution just as I would have in the military and as a member of the NRA.
