New American Truth
—
It was an interesting morning as I completed the daily news updates for the New American Truth home page. After all, the headlines included stories about Democrats voting on a bill that wasn’t even written, a New York school principal who wanted to suspend a five year old for having a 2-inch long Lego toy gun and any number of articles about how, after the mid-term elections, Congress will be “less diverse.” How to pick one…
Most of you have read my rants about the zero tolerance policy so many of our schools have. While I’m all for anything that reduces violence in our schools, I think it’s utterly absurd to punish children for bringing toys to school that are so obviously not dangerous that it would take a complete and total moron to feel threatened by it. You can be killed with a straw; are they outlawed in school to? Give me a break. So I’ll pass on that one.
Virtually anyone who has read my blogs for very long has read one of my rants about the stupidity of either the House or Senate as they do something so ludicrous as to make Gumby look highly intelligent and well-focused by comparison. Threatened with losing their fillibuster-proof 60-vote super majority the Democrats have now apparently at least voiced their desire to vote on a bill before it can even be written, just so they can pass it before new Senator Brown from Massachusetts can upset their house of cards. Give me a break. I’ll pass on that one. You all can figure out how stupid that is.
That leaves me with this “less diversity” topic. This one is really a burr in my saddle this morning. To be blunt: Who cares? When the American people select and elect those who will represent us in the House and Senate, their RACE should not matter. We should be selecting and electing based on our belief that those elected will represent our best interests and protect the intentions of our founding fathers. On at least five different Interent news sites this morning I saw articles about Congress being less diverse after the mid-term elections. Every one of those articles implied that if we don’t elect an African-American to the Senate then we’re doing something wrong.
Hmmm… Currently the only black member of the Senate is Burris, who was appointed to fill Obama’s seat by the Illinois Governor who was under federal investigation. The allegations were that he took cash to appoint Burris to the Senate. Burris almost wasn’t seated and has decided not to run for a full term. THIS is the man we’re worried about not replacing? Seems to me like we’d be doing Illinois a favor if they replaced him with someone of high character; better moral values; and who they trust instead of who could (allegedly) buy the seat. If people believe that the governor sold the seat then doesn’t that have to mean that Burris bought it? After all, for a product to change hands there has to be a seller AND a buyer, right?
So, according to all these articles, the Senate is a whites only club and somehow every American voter is responsible for this racial imbalance. The articles imply that we all bear the burden of this incredibly insensitive state of being and it’s our responsibility to support racial equality by electing at least one black man into the Senate. However, since the article states that 12.5% of the American population is black, virtually all of the articles also implied that our country won’t achieve racial harmony unti we have 12 or 13 black senators. Several of the articles actually noted that there are more Hispanic senators (and always have been) than black senators and isn’t there something wrong with that too? How could we Americans have the audacity to like Hispanics more than blacks? (not that they actually SAY that outright, but they very carefully write around it)
Here’s a thought I’d like to suggest every American carefully consider before they vote: Who among the candidates most closely believes as you believe; carries the same values you do; will best represent you in the House or Senate? THAT is the person you should vote for. THAT is the person you should trust to represent you in our government. For the love of all that is holy, please don’t vote for someone simply based on their race or their religious preference anymore than you would against them simply because of their race or religious preference. Vote for who will do the job best. Let the newspaper ninnies be critical of our choices as we rebuild our strong government representing the will of WE THE PEOPLE. That way, as they have always done, the newspaper ninnies simply continue to make themselves look stupid.

Awesome!!! I can only wish that I could have said that as good as you have. I’m tired of these clowns in Washington who are trying to take away our rights. I just hope that others will feel the same way about them and replace the clowns with people who care about our country.
