Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend - even if your faith doesn't celebrate it as a holiday. Spring has definitely arrived. If nothing else, enjoy the new life that you will see springing out around you as Mother Nature blooms.
Be Safe.

| Tactical Equipment Evaluation:
IronKey Flashdrive
Yeah, yeah... I know; me doing a serious technology piece. What's the world coming to? And, to be brutally honest, when I got the sample of this product I thought, "What? ANOTHER special jump drive?" Then I started looking at it; reading about it; studying up. The next thing I knew I was interested in this and paying attention. It's NOT just "another special jump drive". It's a serious cyber-security tool for serious professionals. Let me tell you a little bit about it and its strengths; and why it's the only jump drive I'll carry. |

Recreational Equipment Review: BLACKHAWK! Climbing Gear
Years ago - back when I had every weekend free and no family to answer to, my best friend and I spent plenty of time on the cliffs in nearby river parks. Rock climbing was his thing. Rappelling was mine. (It's a lot easier to get your body weight DOWN the cliff than up it!) When your life quite literally depends on the quality of your gear, you learn to appreciate the little things that make bits and pieces of gear better. This week we're going to take a look at a few pieces of climbing gear from BLACKHAWK!. Given their name and reputation in the industry, you can bet your life on this stuff - because they probably already have. |

Just recently I posted a blog about the 2nd Amendment and the importance of a case out of D.C. that the Supreme Court recently heard arguments about: Heller v. D.C. It was obvious from the comments that we all have differing beliefs and values where all of the rights we have that are recognized in the Bill of Rights are concerned. The definition of the word "reasonable" comes into play and tempers can flare. In this week's article I'm going to attempt to address my personal beliefs about the 2nd Amendment, but I'm going to do so from a particularly odd angle: I'm going to pretend that the 2nd Amendment never existed. |
My Blogs on Officer.com
My most recent...
It's not just a job; it's an adventure.
Be all you can be.
Looking for a few good men.
All of those sayings are as applicable to law enforcement as they are to the branches of military service they are recruiting tools for. What law enforcement further shares in common with those branches of service is that it's a lifestyle - as much as being a serviceman or woman is.
This crossed my mind a few days ago when I had a conversation with some neighbors about what they do on the weekends. I remember all too well working rotating shifts, weekends, holidays...

| Red State Papa's Blog
A sanctuary for right thinking warriors
Red State Papa is a blog maintained by John M. Wills. I first met John a couple years ago and was impressed by his dedication STILL to a job (law enforcement) that he's retired from and an attitude (warrior outlook) that he maintains ANYWAY. "Conservative Christian" is a term that could have been coined JUST for John. I've had the pleasure of receiving emails from him that are supportive, offering advice, recognizing accomplishment, sympathizing with challenges. I want to share some of his outlooks with you all. Check out his blog.
