I remember a time, maybe two or two-and-a-half decades ago when I believed that Magnum boots were “cheap”. First and foremost, I owe them an apology. Back then, any boots that were made with nylon uppers were generally perceived as of less value than all-leather boots (except the soles of course). Still, Magnum’s boot designs have come a long way since I was a young cop on the street and one of their newer boot models – the Spider 8.1 Tac Spec HPI. While that may be a mouthful of a name, I’ve come to think of them just as the Magnum Spider Tacs and have given them a decent field / wear test.
