One thing I think about in a handheld tactical light is how it fits my hand in the event I need to use it as a defensive impact tool. Well, it works very well to reinforce the knuckles when held in the fist for delivering a jab or straight punch. . . . → Read More: Surefire E1B Backup Light

I still remember the days when the best and brightest flashlight was the size of a small bat, took four D-cell batteries, weighed a half-ton (okay, that’s an exaggeration) and if you left it in your car you were out of luck in the dark. . . . → Read More: ATAC PLx Flashlight by 5.11 Tactical

All in all I was pleased with the unit. With the caveat I documented earlier – this isn’t something you’re going to be able to turn on “instinctively” when you find yourself suddenly under attack, so you’d be better off activating the video recording each time you get out of your vehicle – it’s a good tool. . . . → Read More: Brite-Strike Duty Light Camera Review

When you find yourself in a situation where all you have is .38 Special ammo and a .357 Magnum revolver, you’re still okay. The same concept applies to other items. Today I’m taking a look at an LED-driven flashlight that offers the best versatility for power supply that I’ve found yet: The Gerber Option 60. It’ll take CR-123, AA or AAA batteries. How can you beat that?

Long time readers know that I’m a fan of both versatility and visibility. There are few places where those characteristics are more important than when we’re dealing with roadside emergencies. Typically, in such situations, we have a number of tools we use: glass breakers and seatbelt cutters for escape or rescue, and our emergency flashers and flares for visibility. Recently I received two products from SafetyBright.com: Their SafetyStick and a SafetyPuck. Interesting and serviceable products to say the least. Here’s why.
