No matter how bad it makes administrations, chiefs and sheriffs worry, the fact of the matter is that the large majority of law enforcement professionals carry a knife. Some agencies address this reality by putting proper requiremenst and controls in place via policy. Other agencies pretend it isn’t happening. Yet other agencies call knives something else and regulate it as that “something else.”

Both seem “so simple” people will ask themselves, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Reality is, you didn’t have to think of it, you just need to appreciate it and use it if it suits your needs/situation.

Between the “warm and dry clothes” and the “don’t drown” items, I’m sold on the value of having my backpack (bug out bag, go bag, get out of dodge bag, etc.) lined with a waterproof bag. Obviously it doesn’t HAVE to be military surplus, but you can find them pretty cheap if you look around.

The Impact Armor Technologies Ballistic Clipboard: suffice to say, for this test, the clipboard performs as advertised. $150 clipboard may sound extreme but then you have to weigh in the fact that it might just save your life. How can you put a dollar amount on that?

The new SOG DEMO keeps the “old lines” of the design but upgrades those design features which will increase the knife’s operational life. In doing so, SOG Knives has both remained true to the vintage knife design and it’s honorable historic service, while providing a newer version to those who are ready to invest in one today.

In general, most adults today know how to treat the simple stuff; the stuff you deal with at home growing up and if you’re a parent or guardian for children. What many contemporary warriors aren’t trained to do, and it would greatly impact the number of survived injuries if they did, was treat a few common battle wounds that need not be fatal.

It would make an excellent secondary light on your duty belt or emergency light for your vehicle / camp / bug out gear. The ONLY reason I don’t recommend it as a primary tactical light is because having to switch through high output and ultra-low output to get to the strobe feature can cost valuable time and attention in a potential lethal force encounter.
