The ATAC A1 is a handheld, not much bigger than palm size, “tactical” flashlight. I put the “tactical” in quotes for two reasons: first, it means different things to different people; second, I consider this an excellent off-duty/civilian light and too many people don’t consider a “tactical” light for such.

What I was taught – first night out – was how to set up a single poncho so as to be unobtrusive, sufficient shelter from precipitation, and not a sail if the wind kicked up. Ever since then I’ve always kept a poncho tightly rolled or folded in my pack anytime I’m heading out hiking, camping, etc.

The sleeping bag measures 87″ long according to the tag on it, but the online published info says it’s 86″. I’m 5’10″ tall and either one would be fine with me.

One thing I think about in a handheld tactical light is how it fits my hand in the event I need to use it as a defensive impact tool. Well, it works very well to reinforce the knuckles when held in the fist for delivering a jab or straight punch.
